A Caring Community
The Tubbs Fire may have destroyed our homes in Coffey Park, but it can't destroy our community and our desire to stay strong in the face of extreme adversity. Coffey Park has been a beautiful neighborhood for thirty years, reflecting the hardworking core of our city. Teachers, small business owners, medical professionals, mechanics, accountants, chefs, public employees, grandmas, grandpas, young, old, children, teens, families all called Coffey Park home. The neighborhood is diverse, with people from many backgrounds and ethnicities. A beautiful community. We will rebuild it, and we will do it together.
Who is Coffey Strong Together
My name is Pamela Van Halsema and our family calls Coffey Park home. But like so many others, we lost our house and possessions to the Tubbs Fire. I'm a mom, a spouse, a friend, a neighbor, a professional educator, and an advocate for children and families. I had the desire to create some shirts, and then some mugs with the phrase 'I like my Coffey Strong' right after the fire as a way to speak up for our neighborhood and band together as we recover and rebuild. I plan to do this just for a few months, as we move through the first stages of recovery.
I've tried as much as possible to use local artists and vendors for these items. I'm running this fundraiser from my temporary home a couple of nights a week. I'm also helping out with the Coffey Strong community organization.
Thanks for supporting us in Santa Rosa with a purchase. I'm looking forward to tabulating how much we have raised to help with recovery.
